Vice President Speech
Hello Everyone. My name is Gannon Eldridge and i’m with the libertarian party. I am running for the position of vice president. Our presidential nominee Dawsen Jewell would make a great president because he is a hard working american and cares about all hard working americans. Dawsen wants to help the economy and protect our freedoms like the right to bear arms and to protect our country from socialism. Dawsen wants to work hard to keep the the united state and the people safe. The libertarian party cares about the well being of all U.S citizens and we will work hard to keep everyone safe from external and internal threats.
One of the internal/external threats is the war on drugs. The war on drugs has actually been ineffective with stopping the production, smuggling and dealing of drugs. Some people are arrested for possession of drugs and sometimes they never even committed any sort of crime. More people or arrested for possession than those who commit more violent crimes. Some countries treat drug abuse like a illness and not a crime, people who suffer from drug abuse need to be treated as if they’re sick and need treatment instead of criminals. This overflow of people going to jail for the possession of drugs makes it so people who commited worst crimes have a chance to not have any jail time. The war on drugs needs to be stopped or changed so that way more police manpower can go to investigating more violent crimes.
This other topic isn’t a threat but still important. Our stance on abortion. Abortion is an extremely touchy subject for most people. We believe that both sides have good views but that the government should keep out of the matter. This matter should be left in the hands of the individual.
These were just a few of our views on important topics in the public eye. We believe that the war on drugs needs to be changed or stopped. We believe that abortion is to much of a grey area and the government however should stay out of it. I think Dawsen would make a great president and keep the U.S and citizens safe.
